The organisers of the most important sporting events for youth in the world will soon head for the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region in order to take part in the so-called Observer Programme and learn about local know-how. The Czech Republic is renowned for its outstanding organising skills and current references about the state of preparations, which have been spread abroad from this year's EYOWF 2011 locale, have raised interest all over the world.

A series of interesting lectures will take place from 15th to 17th February 2011 in Liberec, directly in the Olympic Village (block "M"). The Observer Programme is open to anyone interested in the backstage of Festival preparations. We have more than 40 confirmed participants who will come to the Festival's location not only from Europe, but also from Asia.

"We are happy that the Observer Programme has aroused such interest. The information, which we can offer across all the departments, can be highly valuable to future organisers of other sporting events. We took part in a similar programme ourselves at the 2009 Festival in Tampere. We also draw inspiration from it in order to prepare the European Youth Olympics at the highest possible level," says Jan Kubeš, Observer Programme Manager.

Among the applicants are representatives of Nanjing in China, hosts of the Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2014, as well as organisers of the winter variant in 2012 in Innsbruck. There are also organisers of future summer versions of EYOF in Trabzon in 2011 and Utrecht in 2013. In addition, they will be joined by organisers of winter EYOWF 2013 in Braşov and EYOWF 2015 in Vorarlberg/Liechtenstein, as well as representatives of one of the candidates for hosting EYOWF 2017 in Sarajevo.
