From 10th to 12th February, the Department of Physical Education of Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education, Technical University of Liberec, in cooperation with the organisers of EYOWF 2011 and the Czech Olympic Committee will host a conference on the topic Europe - Youth - Olympism. It will take place in the Hotel Zlatý Lev and will consist of lectures by prominent Czech and foreign professionals on the topics of financing sport, organisation of large youth sporting events, the contribution of European youth to sport or the training and preparation of young athletes.
The President of the Liberec Region Stanislav Eichler received the Olympic Torch with the flame which will accompany the 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 starting on 13th February. The flame was recently brought to the Czech Republic by a delegation of organisers from Greece. The gala ceremony was attended by representatives of the three host towns and by legends of Czech sport: Věra Čáslavská, Dana Zátopková and Oldřich Svojanovský.

The flame, which will shine from 13th to 18th February 2011 at the European Youth Olympics (EYOWF) in the Liberec Region, will arrive in the Czech Republic from Greece. From the momentous site where the history of world sport was written, a delegation consisting of organisers will transport the flame to the Festival's location tomorrow. It will be the first time ever the Olympic Flame appears in the Czech Republic.
The organisers of the most important sporting events for youth in the world will soon head for the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region in order to take part in the so-called Observer Programme and learn about local know-how. The Czech Republic is renowned for its outstanding organising skills and current references about the state of preparations, which have been spread abroad from this year's EYOWF 2011 locale, have raised interest all over the world.
The Czech band Eddie Stoilow sings in English and with the growing popularity considers the year 2011 very important. Apart from taking up an eighth member as a godfather, they are going to release their second album. And this band is taking part in the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region, because they are authors of the official song for this notable event.
