The 7.5 km boys’ race held on Thursday at the Vesec venue ended in triumph for the German athletes. Collecting both gold and silver, the Germans stole a march on the favoured Norwegians and Finns. The best Czech, Petr Knop from Jablonec, finished 16th.

The third day of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOWF) 2011 marked the end of the individual Biathlon races and Figure Skating competitions. The girls’ Slalom has a winner; The Ice Hockey tournament continues.
The boys’ Biathlon sprint race in Břízky was won by Norwegian, Johannes Bø, whilst the girls’ was won by Laura Dahlmeier of Germany. If they missed at the shooting range, the athletes did not receive an extra minute’s penalty but had to do a 150 m penalty lap.
