Škoda Auto has become the official partner of the 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Fetival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region. On Saturday 8th May, representatives of the company in Mladá Boleslav handed over fifty Škoda cars to the Organisers. Apart from the members of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee and the car manufacturer, the ceremonial act was also attended by the President of the Czech Olympic Committee Milan Jirásek.

Milan Jirásek has acknowledged the new partnership: “Škoda Auto has for many years been a general partner to the Czech Olympic team. Our athletes are proud to be supported by this company which is recognised all over the world. We are now glad to have the cooperation extended to the 2011 Festival which is a top international youth sporting event. I have personally witnessed several times that this is an event organised with special care, devotion and love.”

The fleet for the 2011 Festival’s needs include two Škoda Yeti cars, ten Superbs, thirty-five Octavia Combis and three minivans. The symbolic handover of the keys to all the cars took place as part of an event called Handicap Tour 2010, where the Handicapped Drivers Association of the Czech Republic helps disabled drivers improve their driving skills.

Martin Ditrich, Director of the Public Benefit Corporation EYOWF 2011, comments: “This cooperation with Škoda Auto amounts to major recognition for us and the significance the Winter Festival has. The cars will be used not only by the Organising Committee for its current needs, but will also be used to transport guests, Chefs de Mission, transportation of small groups and other important Festival participants.”
