Our new image spot, presenting the 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region, revolves around the attractive locales of the Liberec Region, the eight disciplines in which medals will be awarded, and youth, playfulness and dice as a symbolic element, combined with teenage liveliness.

The European Union awarded a € 2-million grant (approximately 51.5 million Crowns) to organise the 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 in the Liberec Region. On Thursday 17th November, Members of the European Parliament in Strasburg approved the subsidy. The Festival will become the first sporting event in the history of the Czech Republic to be co-financed from the European budget.

Over the last weekend in November, the organisers of the 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 took an important trip to Lisbon, where they presented the current state of Festival preparations in the Liberec Region at the regular General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).

The 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) 2011 has passed an important check point in the state of preparations. From the beginning of the week, the EOC Coordination Committee carried out a three-day inspection of EYOWF 2011. The results of this inspection visit were positive for the organisers of the Winter Festival in the Liberec Region.

There is less than a year and half to the opening of 10th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in the Liberec Region left, but sport programme of this event is prepared and approved by European Olympic Committee. However, Ladies Ski Jumping will not appear in competition.
